Match Review || DC Vs KKR
A one sided affair for Delhi Capitals, as the Kolkata Knight Riders were blown away by the blistering knock of "Prithvi Shaw". The only highlight for Knights & KKR fans, was the smashing knock of "Andre Russell". KKR post a mediocre score on board,but Prithvi Shaw made it a cakewalk for Delhi Capitals & they won this fixture,way too easily by 07 wickets.
KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS - INNINGS
Delhi Capitals won the toss & asked the Kolkata knight Riders to bat first. Yet again, Knights were still struggling with the top order standing.This time,for a change Shubman Gill(43) looked in form & were scoring runs at brisk pace. But, the loop hole was at the other end - Nitish Rana(15). KKR lost him early & then it was a procession, wickets were falling like pack of cards. The lone soldier, putting a fight in this innings was "Andre Russell(45*)",who played his signature shots & shown his class with the bat. His destructive innings helped KKR to gain some respectability. KKR managed only 154 runs, in their stipulated quota of 20 overs. Lalit Yadav from Delhi Capitals surprised everyone, by picking two precious wickets in this match.
KKR unable to find either their winning combination or the correct batting order. Team is way to inconsistent & captaincy of Eoin Morgan,at times is illogical. This team has match-winners but without sorting out these issues, KKR can't expect to go far in this league. Knights were 25-30 runs short, at least.Again, a disappointing show by KKR,with the bat.
DELHI CAPITALS - INNINGS
The way Prithvi Shaw commenced the Delhi Capitals innings, that has completely changed the complexion of the match. It was a super explosive start by Prithvi Shaw(82). He hit six boundaries in the very first over of the Capitals innings,bowled by Shivam Mavi. It was a nightmare for bowler & KKR was out of the game right from the outset. Shaw kept playing his big shots & there was no opportunity for Knights,to make any comeback.
Delhi openers had a century run partnership (132 runs) & by the time Prithvi Shaw got out, Capitals were just 09 runs away from an emphatic victory. Although Capitals loose two wickets in quick succession,which also includes the wicket of skipper - Rishabh Pant(16), but it was way too late for Knights. The only stand-out bowler for KKR was Pat Cummins, who picked all the three wickets of the innings.
This was a super dominant performance by Delhi Capitals & they're cruising towards playoffs. Big reasons to worry for KKR team. Think tank of KKR has a lot of things to think,do, make changes & need to take some tough calls going ahead in the tournament. Tough days ahead for KKR.
