Match Review || DC Vs RCB
A blockbuster thriller !!! An absolute cracker of a game & it was a heart stopping stuff !! This was an epic match with all the drama & excitement. This was a clash of two heavy weights,up against each other in the toughest twenty & sensational knocks by A.B.Devilliers & Shimron Hetmyer, lit up the stage & man what a game of cricket. Match went all down to wire & RCB somehow, just somehow managed to win by a run. Heart break for Capitals. Hetmyer won the hearts & ABD won the match.
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE - INNINGS
Capitals won the toss on this new venue - Narendra Modi Stadium,Ahmedabad & asked red army to bat first. RCB had one of the shocking start to the innings. It was slow & sluggish start. Importantly, red army lost their two marquee players inside power-play - skipper Virat Kohli(12) & Devdutt Padikkal(17) . Even Glenn Maxwell(25) got out cheaply & runs were really hard to come by. Credits to Delhi bowlers who kept the batsman quiet & were forcing them to make mistakes. Now, all eyes were on Mr.360 - The magician - "A.B.Deviliers".
Deviliers blockbuster show, completely changed the complexion of the game. Deviliers innings of devastation, turned the game upside down. Delhi bowlers had no clue- what to do & how to stop this thunder storm - named A.B.Deviliers. Yet again, Deviliers(75* off 42 Balls - 03 Fours 05 Sixes) played an iconic innings & took the team to a strong position. At one point, RCB was struggling to score 140 runs, eventually ended up putting a score of 171, such is a impact of enigma of this player. He can take away a game from the opposition in matter of few deliveries & when ABD is on song, then he is literally "Unstoppable". Kudos to ABD for scoring 5000 runs in T20 format.
DELHI CAPITALS - INNINGS
Delhi Capitals were also making a match of innings start with the red army. A shocking start to the innings & it was dangerous. Capitals lost the orange cap holder ,the man in form -Shikhar Dhawan(6) & a marquee player Steve Smith(4) very early in this chase. Soon after Prithvi Shaw(21), who looked in great touch also headed to Pavilion. The game was slipping away from Capitals & now it was all upto skipper Rishabh Pant & Marcus Stoinis to steer the ship & take the team over the line.
Now came Marcus Stoinis to join skipper Rishabh Pant & that's the tactical blunder Capitals made & they missed a trick. Possibly, at this point if Hetmyer would have came & towards the closure Stoinis would have been there, then we might had a different result. Still, Stoinis(22) played a cameo & runs were coming thick & fast for Capitals. But, just when Capitals were gaining grounds, Stoinis edged one from Harshal Patel & possibly that was the turning point of the match.
Nobody had a clue at this point of time, that another blockbuster innings is coming our way. It was Shimron Hetmyer, who took the RCB bowlers to the cleansers & literally snatched the victory from RCB. It hardly mattered for Hetmyer, who is the bowler - he went bezerk & kept hitting those big strikes in every single over & took the game to the last over.
It was a mis-calculation or series of events that just fall in RCB favor & even after hitting two consecutive boundaries of last two deliveries,Capitals found themselves two runs short of the target, implies RCB won the match by a run - yes One run.
If we analyze it was a slow innings from skipper Pant, that could may very well be the reason for this loss. Rishabh Pant(58* of 48 Balls) whereas Shimron Hetmyer (53* off 25 balls). If Pant would have changed the gears after playing good 30-35 deliveries, Delhi Capitals would have ended on a winning side, which they deserve. But,man what thunder strikes from Hetmyer - two boundaries & those four fierce, power-strike biggies. I'm sure that would have given a huge scare to RCB.
Sensational performances from ABD & Hetmyer once again made us believe that anything is possible in the toughest twenty. What a match !! An absolute treat to watch. Thrill for Bangalore fans & a heart-break for Delhi boys !! A match between two champion sides, champion players where cricket was the winner !!
