Match Review || PBKS Vs SRH
This was a huge game between the two desperate teams for a win. It's the Punjab Kings ready to roar against the orange army - Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chennai. IPL2021 is nothing less than a nightmare for Sunrisers & even after three games they're the only team still looking for their maiden win of this season. Therefore,for a change this game is super crucial for Sunrisers than Kings.
Both the teams made two changes. Punjab Kings brought Moises Henriques & Fabian Allen to the playing eleven,whereas Sunrisers brought Kane Williamson & Siddharth Kaul to the team. Finally, Williamson is there in the playing eleven & even his presence itself will make huge difference,in team's approach, players mindset & what not. Sunrisers found themselves in a situation like - "No Kane - No Game". They brought Kane & see they got their maiden win of IPL2021. SRH registered a comprehensive win over PBKS by 09 wickets.
PUNJAB KINGS - PBKS
Punjab Kings won an all important toss on a challenging surface at chennai & has no hesitation in batting first. But, this proved nothing less than a nightmare for them. Kings loose too many wickets & almost half of the team was in pavilion, inside power-play. None of the batsman could exist for long on this pitch. Skipper Rahul(4),Mayank(22),Gayle(15),Deepak Hooda(13), Moises Henriques(14) - all the batmen had decent starts, but none of them made significant contributions with the bat. Unfortunate run of Nicholas Pooran(0) adds insult to injury & yet again was run out, without even facing a single delivery.
Sunrisers were all over Kings& once a team loose that many wickets inside power-play, it's a game-over for them in the toughest twenty format. Towards the end, Shahrukh Khan(22) was trying to provide a good finish but pressure of low score gets to him & he perished. Eventually, Punjab Kings were bowled out inside twenty overs, for just 120 runs. Orange army on top.
SUNRISERS HYDERABAD - SRH
This team looked absolutely different, right from the outset in terms of energy,intent & focus. At halfway stage Sunrisers were sitting in the driver's seat. The best thing with them in this match is, presence of Kane Williamson - a champion who will not allow the team to get into the panic mode.
Skipper David Warner(37) played a sensible innings along-with Jonny Bairstow(63*) & had opening stand of 73 runs. It was too late for Punjab Kings & then we saw "Kane Williamson" coming & he steer the ship of orange army & helped them to attain their maiden win. This was a dominant win of Sunrisers & Williamson - an assurance & a lucky charm of this team. All the bowlers were among the wickets but the pick of the bowlers was - Khaleel Ahmed (03 WKTS).
This game once again exposed the weak-link of Punjab Kings. This team completely relies on top three - Rahul,Mayank, Gayle & if these three didn't fire, then the entire team fall like deck of cards. We've witnessed the monumental collapse once again here on Chennai turf. Sunrisers,finally have points on the tally & they announced their arrival in IPL2021 with a bang. Well played Sunrisers !!!
