First T20I Story - IND Vs ENG

IND Vs ENG – First T20 International Post-Match Analysis

The story of T20 series, commenced in exact same fashion of Test series. It seems, team india made a habit of loosing first game of the series. Be it test series in Australia, home series against england followed by T20 series.

WORLD CHAMPIONS OUTPLAYED TEAM INDIA

The world champions of white ball, stamped their authority & won the first T20 by 08 wickets. It was clinical stuff from world champions. They looked in complete control of the match & right from the ball one, they dominated the game. Be it bowling, batting, fielding or catching - english team, outplayed team india in all departments of the game & registered a comprehensive victory to go one up in the series. ROHIT'S EXCLUSION - THE STRATEGICAL BLUNDER

Team india made a big mistake in the opening game of the series. Men in blue decided to go into this match without "Rohit Sharma" & it was a shocker of the day. One basic thought - a player who is the best in the world & truly a legend of T20 format, when he is in sublime form then why to rest that player ? This decision of team & skipper looks reckless & it cost them a match.

Furthermore, even if a team wants to rest hitman, then it was a no brainer, to rest him in last two games of the series, after ensuring 3-0 lead. In addition to,there are very limited T20 matches before the World Cup, later this year. In such vital situations, too much of experiment can backfire.

Rohit Sharma is an impact player, match winner & king of white ball cricket. The world knows, he has the ability to turn the game on it's head in matter of few deliveries & his ability to play big shots in the power-play at his will is - "priceless". So, what's the point in resting a batsman who is on song ?

What's in the minds of team india's think tank - it's a big question ? Sorry, it's a mystery & a strategical blunder.

ENGLAND TOOK COMPLETE CONTROL

Team England looked completely different from the test series. This is a new format, new series & fearless-dominant cricket from the world champions. They played like, they are the top team of the world in this format. Visitors just not allowed the men in blue, to get any sort of momentum & picked three big wickets in power-play. English bowlers jammed the indian batsmen & built pressure on them. Eventually, england was successful in getting three big wickets in the power-play. Team india were limited to their second lowest power-play score – 22/3 & were tottering down at 54/4 at halfway stage & that was it. THE LONE WARRIOR SHREYAS IYER

In a complete collapse of team india, the lone warrior was "Shreyas Lyer(67)". Watching him play was an absolute delight. It was an exhibition of smart, sensible, sharp & intelligent cricket. Half of the runs was scored by only this player. When you loose three big wickets in the power-play itself, then it's very difficult to post a challenging score. Team india managed just 124 - a very mediocre score.

THE J FACTOR - "JOFRA - JASON - JOSS"

The secret of england's thumping victory over team india is - "J-Factor". Hosts were unable to tackle the J-factor of english team & that lead to their loss in this match. The J-factor is no rocket science. It's - "Jofra Archer(3 Wkts), Jason Roy(49 Runs) & Joss Buttler(28 Runs)". These were three impact players of the game for england.

We know - Jason Roy is a super explosive batsman at the top & while chasing a mediocre target, he literally took the game away from the hosts. A full attack mode of "Joss Buttler" was, adding insult to injury & when it comes to bowling, the all rounder Jofra picked those three big wickets for the team, for which he was awarded as "Player Of The Match". If, team india wants to conquer this series, then they must find a way to deal with J-factor of england.

WILL HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF

Team india once again, commenced the series with a loss. But, such was a story of test series few weeks before against the same opposition. Now, a million dollar question - Are we going to see the repeat of test series & will team india bounce back with a win ? Well, that's very much possible as this team refuse to surrender. This team has bounced back strongly & the best of the teams, earlier Australia & now England has experienced it.

So, get ready for some juicy encounters ahead & some classic performances, from the dynamic match winners of both the teams. Well Played - World Champions !!
